All Bridal packages require 50% of the booking total to book with a contract signing.
All Brides book a Bridal trial with us, Bridal trials help us do our consultation with you and help us create a relationship and understanding of what look you are wanting on your wedding day. Trials help us illiminate errors to help you have the best look on your special day, it helps us see what we need to change before the I Do's, we do not book a wedding without a Hair or makeup trial. Before booking a package that requires 2 artists or more artists please reach out to us so we can make sure the staff are avaliable before booking your date.
Taxes and travel fee are not included in our group packages.
Yes, Flower girls ages 10 and under only pay $50 for makeup or $50 for hair. If getting both hair and makeup done than the package is only $90. This does not include false lashes. Although our studio is 18 plus if flower girls are needing makeup done we are more than happy to accommodate as long as the moms and brides are ok with us doing makeup on their young adults. Makeup is for any age, we do not discriminate to age at JRO Artistry :)
Yes, although we do booking package rates to help accomodate bigger wedding bookings we adjust our package deals and illiminate some of the package exclusives to have it only 4 bridesmaids or only 3 bridesmaids with the bride and bridal trial! All non packages are $160 a person to get makeup done not including a travel fee of 0.68 cents a kilometer round trip total and not including glue one false lashes which we sell them for only $15.00 each a person. False lashes really complete the look especially in photo graphs as it helps stand out more in professional photos.
Yes we are more than happy to accommodate out of town weddings for travel. Anything over 2 hours of travel will require hotel stay outside of Edmonton/Spruce Grove especially for early morning weddings. Out of town clients must provide a hotel or equal accommodations please ensure you include this information when inquiring about booking.
DESTINATION WEDDINGS: Justine with JRO Artistry is happy to accommodate destination weddings. Travel fees, such as flights, parking fees, extra baggage and hotel stays, must be provided with regular hair and makeup fees apply.
Yes, At JRO Artistry although we are the expert we believe our clients are the experts also. Its your special day and in order for us to meet your bridal needs we ask that a bridal trial is done to understand what look you are hoping for. You may provide a reference photo or you may verbally discuss at your trial what look you are hoping for. Once the Bridal trial is done and the bride has decided on the look they want the appointment look is not changed and executed the day of the wedding to make sure the bride and bridesmaids are finished on time. Preparation on the Freelance kit is also made around the looks and feed back given if changing your look the day of happens we cannot guarantee we will have the colours in our kit, This is why its important to book a bridal trial so you can try the look you are wanting!
Yes, we will most likely have your foundation in our kit, Although we only have about 20-30 shades we do our best to match everyone's diversity's and skin tones. Colour matching is our favourite thing to do. If we do not have a precise shade we will "Cocktail Mix" two foundation shades to get the exact colour you prefer. This is a method most freelance makeup artists do for their kit so they do not need to carry 70 foundation shades. This was a method our artist learned in school and learned from MAC Cosmetics and Shoppers drug Mart when they were employed there. However; If you want to bring your own foundation or concealer you absolutely can if your more comfortable. If choosing to bring your own products we can still do a professional look however; it will still be the same price.
Most brides book a year in advance or 8 months in advance to guarantee their spot with us. Reason why is bridal season is extremely busy and since JRO Artistry is a Senior artist since 2009 we tend to have fast bookings for the popular summer dates. That being said its wonderful to have open communication with your artist so they understand what time slots are needed! When It comes to every day makeup and non bridal a month notice is preferred as weekends book up fast with our other services.
At JRO Artistry with our Business insurance and our experience in the industry since 2009, we prefer a contract singing for all clients prior to an appointment. Reason why is a Contract underlines the appointment being booked, the aftercare, the potential risks, the process, the payment info and the policy, Our contracts are catered to everyone's needs so we can also know if (The Client) Is allergic to anything or has any allergies or specific requests. Often if you are booking a service at a company and they do not offer a contract it is seen as a "red Flag". How can you know you can trust your photographer, hair dresser, lash tech or makeup artist without a contract signing and that they will hold up to their agreement for your special day?
Contracts although seem scary protect our clients first and protect are artists from any confusion and help us stay on a professional level of business. This is why its important to book with a reputable company who has this emplace rather than booking with a "Hobbyist" who does not do this for a living.
Having a non refundable deposit of $50.00 for makeup and hair services and a Non -refundable deposit of $30.00 for our other services officially books your appointment spot with out contract signing. Without booking a non refundable deposit we wont know if you are for sure booking the appointment. Whats nice with our non-refundable deposit is it gets minused off the owing total the day of your appointment, this is why its nice to have a partial payment. Although, we try our best to ensure we clean our kit before, during and after each appointment with 70%-90% alcohol and we do not cross contaminate and use disposable mascara wands, lip applicators, q-tips, face wipes, and other disposable products the chances of a reaction can potentially happen. Although not common this is why its important to let your artist know prior to booking if you are allergic to: Latex, gluten, Shea butter, talc, coconut or fragrances, We try to ensure our own products are fragrance free and cruelty free however; we do carry the following products in our kit. MAC Cosmetics, Estee Lauder, Morphee, Clinique, Elf Cosmetics, colour pop cosmetics and some shoppers drug Mart brands such as NYX Cosmetics. If you have reacted to these brands in the past you may be allergic to a key ingredient in the product. We can try our best to not use the product you request but cannot guarantee if you will have an allergic reaction or not. Eye shadows should never burn, if your eyes are watering please let your artist know so we can safety apply your makeup.
Although we try to ensure that all of our brushes are synthetic fibers that give off the same feel as a real hair brush we do have some MAC Brushes in our kit that are a "staple" that we like to use that use real hair. Our white hair MAC Brushes are made from Goat hair to create a soft application. If you are Vegan we can use our new MAC Brushes that are synthetic fiber or our Morphee, Elf, and Quo Brushes that are synthetic fiber to avoid this from happening. Please let us know If you have any skin sensitivity's.
Professional makeup artist tips:
TO DO: Before your appointment.
1. If you have dry and oily skin please exfoliate your skin at least 1 day before your appointment. please wash your face and moisturize before your appointment the day of for a smoother outcome of makeup application.
2. If you have Dry lips please use a lip bomb every day with a lip mask to help your lips not be dry and cracked for makeup application. Exfoliate lips twice a week to help. (If you're a natural girl I recommend mixing honey and sugar with a little olive oil to help scrub your lips) This makes your lipstick wear longer also.
3.If Applicable we understand everyone has unwanted texture. Face Waxing, Threading and Dermaplaning is recommended the week of the appointment. Remember foundation does not sit well on top of texture or facial hair.
Dermaplaning and waxing we recommend booking with www.Jroartistry,com as we are great with hair removal and skin treatments and brow shaping!
Please note a makeup artist will not tweeze brows or trim them during a service for hygeing reasons and this is a seperate service, we do what we can with makeup when shaping and building brows, if having a brow preference please communicate with your artist before your appointment as brows are sisters not twins.
4. For Hair we recommend to wash it the day before the hair and makeup session. A Day old hair is usually better to work with. Unless you have very oily scalped hair you can wash it the same day with just shampoo and no conditioner. Make sure your hair is dry and free of any hair products! If you want your hair curls please don't straighten it prior to your appointment or it won't hold curls. If you hair is wet at the appointment and we have to blow dry it for you it is a additional $30.00 charge for blow drying.
It is important to know what type of makeup look you are wanting to avoid a "cakey experience" Most people who do not wear makeup on a regular basis will feel a little heavier in the face than normal. This is because you are wearing more products than what your use to. For the wedding day we use a lot of skincare to help the skin stay fresh and not feel heavy. It is important for the Bride to understand what coverage they want. A Natural foundation with minimal coverage will not feel thick and leave a dewy finish, where a medium coverage will cover most of our natural skin and not be as heavy. Often the bride wants "Full coverage" Full coverage foundations are thicker and can cover everything even tattoos! Our full Coverage foundations in our kit are Kat Von D and MAC Studio fix Fluid. To ensure a non cakey feel we would use a Condensed brush to apply it with primer so it is softer. Often less is more with full coverage makeup.
If showing the Artist a picture from "Instagram" "pinterest" Or a photo of "Kim Kardashian" please note these are not "Natural Makeup looks" and are often considered full glam which is thicker. We will always try our best to not make you feel cakey or over welmed and that is why we offer a bridal trial. It is important to know that 50% of the makeup does not show up in professional photos and often alters the photos. This is why sometimes it is good to wear a lot more makeup than what your use to for your wedding photos so they turn out with no blemishes.
